To make your results as easy as you would like, at tellmeGen™  we have developed a simple kit that allows us to complete the entire process in 5 easy steps:

ACQUIRE THE TELLMEGEN™ TEST KIT

The first step is to purchase the tellmeGen™  test kit through the distributor

KIT REGISTRATION

The second step is to access the platform and register the tellmeGen™ kit with your personal data. Registration is as easy as creating a user account and following the steps to enter the serial number found on the sample collection tube.

DEPOSIT SALIVA SAMPLE

Once registering the kit is time to provide the saliva sample. It is very important to complete this step correctly. For this, it is necessary to deposit the saliva inside the tube until the saliva (not the bubbles) exceeds the fill mark. It is important not to smoke, drink or chew gum during the 30 minutes prior to collecting the sample. Incredible as it may seem, in such a small sample is all your genetic information!

We also have available the tellmeGen™ baby kit for children between 0-3 years old, which comes with special buccal swabs to collect the baby’s saliva easily.

SHIP TO THE LABORATORY

Once the kit is registered and the saliva collection is done, it is time to send the kit with the sample inside. To facilitate this task, a bag is included (which you will find under the tray of your kit) with all the shipping information printed on it. All you have to do is put the kit in the bag and send it.

RECEIVE THE RESULTS AND DISCOVER WHAT YOUR DNA SAYS

From the moment the kit is shipped, the average time for delivery of results is 4 to 6 weeks (depending on factors such as the time it takes for the sample to arrive at destination). Once the results are available, you receive the information that you can access them on the tellmeGen™ platform. The report is available in ‘.pdf’ format so that it can be downloaded, printed or carried in a USB memory. The map is divided into the four main sections: major diseases, pharmacology, hereditary monogenic diseases and personal traits. In each section there are results with legends that inform what each item means and with the possibility of reviewing the scientific studies that deal with the topic that may be of interest (a specific disease, a drug …). Remember that before opening the results, you have the opportunity to decide if there is any information that you do not want to see reflected in it.
